The Bandon Community Youth Center is a 501c3 nonprofit. Our mission is to provide opportunities for local youth and families to learn, grow and experience success. We have been supporting our community and working families since 1998. Our Members will be challenged with critical thinking, embracing collaboration and creativity. Engaging members with real life connections, social-emotional connections and the mindset that we are always learning, always growing and always experimenting. With an overall goal of creating lifelong learners!
YOUTH DEVELOPMENT. BCYC is committed to providing educational programming to Bandon’s youth. Our goal is to create learning opportunities that allow children and teens to explore different hobbies, skills and professional environments. Through exposure to these various programs we hope to enable and encourage youth to pursue their passions.
CIVIC ENGAGEMENT. Encouraging our youth to have a sense of pride in their community and exploring ways to improve it is one of our many goals. Through various community service projects, we are hoping to spark a passion for service in Bandon’s youth.
LEADERSHIP. BCYC is committed to providing leadership opportunities to the youth in our community. Through service projects, workshops, classes, a network of community partners and our amazing volunteers we are providing an educational experience that will help kids gain confidence and develop leadership skills. Giving students a voice.
CORE PROGRAMMING AREAS. Our After-School Clubs are available for Kindergarten to 8th grade. Tiger Club is a daily after school enrichment program focusing on healthy eating habits with hands on preparation of snacks, physical activities, art, STEM and robotics. Our Harbor Lights After Hours Programs include daily math tutoring in Math Mentors, Media and News Club that produces the Panther Post, Cooking Club and Culture Club.
